Recipe: Dried Lavender, Lemon, and Vinegar Multipurpose Cleanser
Ingredients:
- 4 cups distilled white vinegar
- 4 tablespoons dried lavender buds
- 8 lemons (juice and zest)
- 8 cups water
Directions:
1. In a large glass jar or container, combine the distilled white vinegar and dried lavender buds.
2. Cut the lemons in half and squeeze the juice into the jar as well. Remove any seeds. (I use squeezed lemons from making my detox drink.)
3.Pour in the water and give the mixture a good stir.
4. Seal the jar tightly and let it sit for at least 24 hours to allow the ingredients to infuse.
5. After 24 hours, strain the mixture through a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a clean gallon-sized container.
6. Your dried lavender, lemon, and vinegar multipurpose cleanser is now ready to use!
Usage:
- For general cleaning: Pour the cleanser into a spray bottle and spray onto surfaces such as countertops, sinks, and stovetops. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
- For glass and mirrors: Pour the cleanser into a spray bottle and spray onto the surface. Wipe with a lint-free cloth or newspaper for streak-free shine.
- For bathroom cleaning: Pour the cleanser directly onto shower tiles, bathtub, or toilet bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes, then scrub and rinse thoroughly.
- For freshening the air: Pour the cleanser into a spray bottle and spray into the air to eliminate odors and leave a pleasant lavender and lemon scent.
Note: This cleanser is not recommended for use on marble or granite surfaces, as the acidity of the vinegar may cause damage. Always test the cleanser on a small, inconspicuous area before using it on any surface.
